A big welcome back to Bend Over, who just couldn’t stay away from our fair isle, and has returned for more fun in the sun….. a little too much it appeared for someone in her profession!! And what’s with the bandage on Lanky’s ankle?? A sneaky way to get out of a hash, I’d say!!
For the rest who gathered at the Traveller’s Gym parking area, some anxious glances at the nearby vistas were cast, especially after the last few hashes! Warnings of Mexican Thorn were all we got, so could it be, an easier route?? The FRBs immedicately went off on their own, following Buford T. (right into a nasty back arrow we were later informed!). For the WATs, it was off across the cattle grid, behind the IDL buildings and on into the wilderness.
A lot of scrambling over loose rocks, a few ups and downs into and out of gullies, dodging of thorn trees, misdirections by the hare, but we eventually found ourselves at the seismic monitoring area, or whatever it is! The FRBs caught up with the WATs but then, just as suddenly disappeared again.
Then more of the same and we finally made it to the NASA road. Of course we couldn’t have the comfort of following a nice smooth path….. nope, it was following a turn signal, and into the rocks on the other side of the road. We made it back to the road finally, just to cross and delve even deeper into the rocks, including a scrabbly little climb that a few avoided by sticking to a track??
Another trek across the uneven ground, and it was back to the road once again. This time we actually stayed on it, back up the hill to the turn into the gym. The FRBs (of course) were already back and had cracked open the coolers. Lots of treats, and cool drinks followed. Parties beckoned some, so it was off to clean up! A great hash…… a bit brutal for the FRBs we heard, but a nice long stroll for the WATs. Great hash Uncle Transvestite and Buford T
Next Week: Special NIGHT HASH, courtesy of Morticia and Chief Bald Eagle!!
Park at the Butt Crater on Northeast Bay Road, at 7:15 pm, and be sure to bring a torch!! There is an advisory out to wear long trousers……. Sound like a real adventure!!
Please bring a plate.
