Ascension : VACANCY FOR A TEACHING ASSISTANT SPECIAL NEEDS - Two Boats School

WE NEED A VERY SPECIAL PERSON TO WORK WITH A VERY SPECIAL PUPIL


Two Boats School is looking for a very special person to take over the role of full time teaching assistant working with one of our very special Downs Syndrome children.  The role includes providing one to one classroom support with numeracy, literacy, reading, leading small group sessions, swimming, preparing classrooms resources, photocopying, laminating and displays. 


 


You will



  • Be a vital link between home and school.
  • Help our child to learn and develop key skills.
  • Need to be able to use Makaton sign language or be willing to learn it very quickly through attendance at evening classes at school.
  • Need to be able to use your own initiative.
  • Have experience of working with young people in a school environment.
  • Be willing to learn new skills and ways of working.
  • Be cheerful and willing to be part of a team.
  • Have at least 1 years experience working with children in a variety of contexts.

The Job is graded at circa Level 3 with a minimum and maximum salary band of £5,800 - £9,200 per annum. The successful applicant’s salary will fall within this salary band and will depend upon qualifications and experience. A single allowance of £2,688 per annum will be payable and accommodation will be provided.


 


The post is offered as a Single Status Contract for two years.
