It was a select little group who gathered for the first hash of 2008. As they eagerly gathered round for instructions there were a few worried glances towards Red Hill.

It was a select little group who gathered for the first hash of 2008.  As they eagerly gathered round for instructions there were a few worried glances towards Red Hill.  Surely they wouldn’t be so cruel at the start of the year?  Oh yes they could!!!  The on-on was along the road and yes – all the way up Red Hill. 

Folk made their own way up in their own time at their own pace.  For some this was a race up the hill and they ran all the way (well nearly!), for others it was take it easy and just get up there!  The latter group enjoyed the views, took photos and had a good old chin wag along the way. 

Now there have been some mean things done on hashes but this was a very mean one.  Just as the last of our group popped their head over the top the rest of the gang headed down hill again!!  They didn’t even wait to say hello the meanies! 

Some headed off to the right where there was not a definite path and scree ran all the way to the bottom and the circle check.  Others stuck to the path.  An injury prevented Headmistress continuing so the others headed along by the dump and around to Nipple Hill across the boulders and loose rocks.  Meanwhile not to be outdone Nip n Suck, Mores Monkey and Pyromanic went for a walk around the base of Red Hill and arrived back at Patio 13 just as the runners were running back too.

Just in time for a grand BBQ prepared by Stinky Fingers and crew.  The food, drink and friendship was enjoyed by all.  Well done to the hares and thank you for a great leg stretch to kick off 2008.
