Before I begin. Well done al of you who took part in the Sponsored walk… I hope you raised lots of money for Children In need.

Now… A special message for some chap who has just reached double figures…

A special Grand Son. Kyle Francis who will be celebrating his birthday on Friday 23rd.Nov.

Wishing you a very happy birthday we will be thinking of you and hope you will have a fantastic time.

Hello also to Keira Leigh and Selene Amber.

Love and Best Wishes.

From Nanny and Pops.

Right – I was accused last year by an avid reader – (K.B.) that I used the same idea twice.  Me!!!  And that the advent calendar I suggested was great to make and as you made it last year and it lasts year after year, then you should all have one that will do again this year, so here is something different!  An Advent chain.  It needs a little bit more thinking and will keep you busy all the way up to Christmas.

Make your own Advent chain with a link for each day of the Advent season. Use Bright coloured construction paper to make links for the days in Advent (that’s 24) and white construction paper to make the link for Christmas Day.

On each link write one activity. After writing an activity on each link, attach the links to make a chain. Each day remove a link and do the activity as a family. Your activities can include…Bake cookies, make or buy your gifts. Sing a favorite carol.  Decorate the Christmas tree.  Make Christmas gift tags.  Make ornaments for your tree. Watch a Christmassy movie.  Go on a night walk to see the Christmas lights in the village or town.  I am sure you can think of lots more activities and jokes to add to your advent chain.

Here are some jokes to get you started.

What’s brown and sneaks around the kitchen?

Mince Spies!

What is a mum’s favourite Christmas Carol?

Silent night

What’s the best Christmas present in the world?

A broken drum.  You can’t beat it!

I am sure you know better jokes than these.  Send them in to me with any Christmas messages.  What is your favourite film, story about Christmas?  Write a review and send them in and I will put them in your page.

Sarah.coverdale@yahoo.co.uk  or drop them in at Bungalow A2 Two Boats village or pop them in the post box for Sarah Coverdale at V.T. communications English Bay.
