So for anyone in year 5 and 6 who didn’t do their homework on Fireworks last week, What was your excuse?

And by the way – just in case you tried copying everything I wrote – you will be found out… Don’t forget this is your teacher’s favourite page in the Islander too!

I thought you should be warned… these fierce pirates were found wandering around the Island looking for treasure.  They did a great job of finding it, halfway up Green Mountain They returned their gold to the Heritage Museum where they received some chocolate coins and other pirate goodies.

The pirates also had a fun day at the Museum finding out about Dampier and looking out for real Pirate ships – of which one with a Jolly Roger was spotted!  But don’t worry – they managed to scare them away.  All enjoyed looking playing Pirate games, pop-up Pirates, putting on hats, painting pictures of different signal flags.  (Anything else beginning with P?)

Watch this space for another fun week in Febraury half term.

Pirate cutlasses, eyepatches and other goodies can now be purchased form the museum.
