Cemetery inscriptions

Hello, I am interested to know whether anyone may have transcribed inscriptions from old graves on Ascension Island.

An ancestor of mine was apparently buried on the island in 1872. He died at sea in the Indian Ocean on 18 August 1872 but his body was not buried until they reached Ascension, according to family legend. His name was Jonathon Ambrose and he was a merchant on Mauritius. His death was reported to British authorities on 17 October 1872.

I would be grateful if you could put me in touch with anyone on Ascension who may have an opportunity to check the old graves for me. I live in Western Australia.

Thank you for any help you may be able to extend.

Warmest regards

Jenni Ibrahim
