The post of Pest Control Assistant with the Ascension Island Government (AIG) will become vacant in August of this year. The post is within the Environmental Health Section of the Works & Services Department and reports directly to the Environmental Health Technician.
Applicants must have the ability to work in difficult and harsh conditions, be physically fit and be able to work independently to a high standard.
The main duties of the post are:-
· To assist the Environmental Health Technician with the implementation of the Rat Control Strategy.
· General pest control duties.
· Responding to out of hours calls when necessary.
· To work ship as and when required.
The successful applicant will be expected to have regard for AIG’s health and safety standards. They should ideally hold a valid A, B & C driving licence.
The post is offered as a Single Status Contract for two years. The Job is graded at Level 3 with a minimum and maximum salary band of £5,800 - £9,200 (before tax) per annum. The successful applicant’s salary will fall within this salary band and will depend on qualifications and experience. In addition to the salary, a Self-Catering Allowance of £2,688 per annum will be paid. Accommodation will be provided.
