Ascension : From St Mary's Church
Submitted by The Islander (Clive & Jenny Duncan) 03.05.2007 (Article Archived on 17.05.2007)

Dear All, Friday evening's event was new for a number of us but not for some others who had seen a similar event in the Pier Head car park previously.

When organising something like this it takes a lot of time and effort not forgetting what is done behind the scenes.

Those of you who was there on Friday evening will agree that Barry Francis and his team must be congratulated for putting this on that turned out to be an  evening enjoyed by all.  My thanks to all who came out to support us in particular the Bar Tenders who kept the drinks flowing and of course those behind the food stall feeding the hungry. They all did a marvellous job in keeping everyone happy.

Thank  God  we still have people around who are prepared to give of their time and help in this way.

Thanks to the Ascension Island Government for preparing the site and everyone who assisted to make the evening such a success.

We are now into the month of May with the Ascension Day Fair a few weeks away.  I trust that you will come and support us once again.

Have a pleasant week.

Canon Clive.
