Ascension : Golf News - From One Boat Golf Club
Submitted by The Islander (Nathan Prince) 25.09.2003 (Article Archived on 19.10.2003)

On Sunday 21st September, 14 Golfers took part in our Monthly Medal. There were no twos recorded so a chip off contest nearest to the pin had to be decided.

After everyone had made there shot two Golfers were even to the pin so the balls were shared between John Joshua and Martin Cranfield, each
receiving 7 balls.

Four outstanding scores were carded, three of which were tied for second place so a count back had to be decided leaving Lawson Henry fourth with a nett 68, John Joshua third also with a nett 68, and Martin Cranfield in the Runner-up spot also with a nett 68. Our Winner of the day was Alex Turner who shot a nett 64. Well done to everyone especially the Winners.

This coming Sunday 28th September there will be a Texas Scramble starting 8.30 followed by the Annual General Meeting and Curry & Rice lunch, and we'll round things up with Hick's and Hobie.

Dates for your Dairy…..

October 5th , The Ray Beano Texas Scramble followed by the American Legion Chilli Cook Off. "Folks don't forget your chilli".

Just a reminder the Ascension Open Championship 2003 starts Sunday 12th October… so get your clubs done and dusted and see you all there!!
