ASCENSION:

A generally fine and hot week, although both Thursday and Sunday saw some unseasonable weather more akin to October. Frequent drizzly showers deposited over an inch of rain over Green Mountain and even Georgetown saw nearly a centimetre.

ST. HELENA:

A disappointingly cool and cloudy week for St Helena, with occasional showers falling just about every day.

UK:

A bitterly cold week in the UK with frost and freezing fog a problem early on. On Thursday and Friday the first significant snow for some winters hit many parts of the UK causing widespread travel disruption. Brize Norton was on the receiving end of 8cm of snow – the most here for 11 years!

It was a taste of the coming autumn last week as strong to gale force SW winds dominated bringing frequent showers, some of them wintry, to the islands. Once again the dreaded northerly crosswind delayed the Airbridge going south last Monday.
