Hi, Recently I worked on Ascension and found myself writing poetry on situations I found myself in. Here’s one: see what you think!

TURTLE’S NEST
Sitting outside the turtle’s nest,
With “six packs” nice and cold
With saints with halos nowhere in sight
The stories did unfold
They shot the breeze, we shot it back That night was just pure gold
Relaxing and talking with the salt of the earth
My story must be told
For never before have I felt so content
Amongst my company of brothers
I would only trade that place right now
For home but then no others
But my problem you see, home’s so far away
And never again shall I be
At the turtle’s nest, shooting the breeze
Where speech is oh so free
So for now my friends with memories stored
I’m content, I really must mention
At having had the honour of sitting with Saints
In Georgetown on Ascension
