Ascension : VACANCY – GENERAL WORKER/CLEANER

The Ascension Island Government will shortly require the services of a General Worker/Cleaner.

The Ascension Island Government will shortly require the services of a General Worker/Cleaner. The successful applicant will be required to undertake general cleaning duties in respect of AIG buildings, i.e. offices, accommodation, etc.

Hours of work are 8am to 5pm – Monday to Friday (with an hour for lunch each day). The rate of pay will be £4,740.00 per annum. A single status contract for 2 years will be offered. This will include accommodation and a single allowance of £2,688.00 per annum.  

Principle duties will involve daily sweeping, polishing, toilet cleaning, bin emptying, window cleaning, shampooing carpets/tiles and requisitioning supplies and equipment needed for cleaning.  A Job description is available on request.

The successful candidate will have experience in cleaning duties, be fully motivated and adaptable and be able to work as a part of a team and be prepared to work flexible hours. A valid driving licence of class A is also essential.
