ASCENSION:

Okay, so we’ve had lots of showers this week, quit complaining already, at least it’s still warm! The ‘showery season’ continues.

ST. HELENA:

A very poor week across our neighbour island, with very cloudy skies and occasional strong winds, especially up around Longwood. Only 4.5 hours of sunshine were recorded in the whole week!

UK:

It has been a very mild Autumn so far. The top temperature of last week was a respectable 22 degrees in Worcestershire. The coldest night was recorded at Kinbrace (Highland) where the mercury touched zero on Sunday night. Old English folk lore would try to predict the first frosts of the coming Winter. It is said in Northumberland, that ‘a sly ferret heralds a wealthy sky.‘

A chilly start to the week under high pressure, but unsettled thereafter with spells of rain and strong winds. Sunday was particularly blustery with occasional wintry showers.
