Ascension : CONSERVATION TOURS

Green Mountain, the highest peak on the island, is covered by a wide variety of tropical vegetation and spectacular views. There is a web of interesting paths amidst the vegetation.

 

Green Mountain Guided Walks

Green Mountain, the highest peak on the island, is covered by a wide variety of tropical vegetation and spectacular views. There is a web of interesting paths amidst the vegetation. A tour guide will available to take you along one of the paths at the times listed below:

Tuesday          9:30am – 12:30pm
Thursday          1:30pm – 4:30pm
Saturday          9:30pm – 12:30pm     

VISIT TO THE WIDEAWAKE FAIRS

Around 200,000 pairs of Wideawakes (Sooty Terns) nest seasonally on Ascension. They are on the Island at the moment and the Conservation Centre is offering tours to visit them. Tours will be available at the following times:

Wednesday            2:00pm – 3:30pm          

Friday                    2:00pm – 3:30pm

Booking Details(Both Tours)

Please book your tour at least one day in advance with the Conservation Centre in Georgetown. A charge of £5 per adult (over 16) will be made to cover transport and insurance costs.
