Ascension : AIG Coxswains Gain Class 11 Boatmasters Licence

Earlier this year the following personnel from AIG Marine Section was awarded Class 11 Boatmasters Licence issued by Marine Coastguard Agency in the UK

Earlier this year the following personnel from AIG Marine Section was awarded Class 11 Boatmasters Licence issued by Marine Coastguard Agency in the UK:

Stuart Harris
Carl Thomas
Justin Wade
David Fowler
David Beard

On Thursday 29th June 2006, under the guidance of Captain Scott Moser from MV Chapman the following persons circumnavigated Ascension Island in the Queen Atlantis.  This trip was undertaken as part of an ongoing training programme as a support vessel to the inshore rescue craft. The main purpose of the trip was familiarisation of the vessels navigational instruments: -
Further training of this type will be carried out in the near future with other staff from the Marine section.
We extend warm thanks to Captain Moser for his invaluable assistance and congratulations to the staff for their hard work and achievement.
