ST. HELENA: |
It’s been a rather cloudy week over in St. Helena, with occasional showers and only Wednesday seeing some decent spells of sunshine. For much of the week it was also rather breezy, with gusts of up to 41mph reported. |

UK: |
Whilst already experiencing the wettest May since 1983 across England and Wales, the UK received yet more cold and wet weather this week. There were overnight frosts across much of Scotland and temperatures remained below average almost everywhere. Most days saw plenty more rain too, with only Thursday offering a brief respite of sunshine for many. |

After a cold, but relatively dry start to the week, things went swiftly downhill with the weather by Wednesday - a fact that certainly didn’t pass unnoticed by the many people hoping to catch the northbound Airbridge home on Thursday, Friday and then finally on Saturday. Gale force northerly winds with gusts of up to 75mph and severe turbulence made it simply too dangerous for the aircraft to take off. The howling winds were also accompanied by almost continuous drizzle throughout – grim! |
