Submitted by The Islander (Gavin Yon) 13.04.2006 (Article Archived on 27.04.2006)

We would advise of four things that have occurred in the last few days which may be of interest and assistance to you.

6th April, 2006.
Dear RMS Web Site Registeree,
We would advise of four things that have occurred in the last few days which may be of interest and assistance to you.
St Helena Government have advised of  Sea Fare price increases which have been implemented as of now.  Fares for A & B decks (T1S down to T4 grade) have been increased by 5% .  This is the first increase for over two years and will apply to bookings made from now on where no deposit has been received as yet.
St Helena Line are about to issue a new version of the Fares & Sailing Brochure which contains details of Fares, Schedules, and various package options, up until April 2008 which will be available in the next two weeks.  Should you wish to receive a copy of this please email us at  reservations@aws.co.uk with the mailing address to which it should be sent.
We can also confirm that the RAF have also increased their prices for flights to and from Ascension Island/Brize Norton for any flights taken from the 1st May 2006 onwards.
Prices for all these elements as well as a down loadable pdf of the Fares & Sailing Brochure please check both the RMS St Helena and Andrew Weir web sites where information is being currently up date.

Freight rates for all cargo to and from St Helena,  and Ascension Island have been increased by St Helena Government by 2%.
The RMS St Helena web site is currently undergoing a revamp and this will be re-launched in the next week.  We trust that you will like and enjoy the new design and imbedded graphics.
With kind regards,
Captain W A Langworthy
General Manager
St Helena Shipping Service.
