ASCENSION:

The dry spell certainly ended abruptly on Sunday, all of last week’s rain falling within a few hours around Sunday lunchtime and early afternoon.

ST. HELENA:

A pleasant summer week. Largely dry with long periods of sunshine. Temperature normal for the time of year. Water reserves have reached a critically low level, indeed our man on St Helena, Marcos Henry, has started rain dance classes in an effort to avert the crisis.

UK:

Another unseasonably cold week across the UK. Most areas saw some snow, with Scotland and northeast England worst affected. Southeast England remains desperately short of water. A  number of water authorities have introduced hose pipe bans.

FALKLANDS:

Mostly average conditions affected the Falklands last week, although a glimpse of autumn was felt over the weekend as the wind swung round to the southwest.
