ASCENSION:
After a dry few weeks rain returned with a vengeance. At the airhead 9.0 MM was reported of which 6.2 MM fell in three hours between 0600 and 0900 on Monday 16th. The residency figures do not include this period.
ST. HELENA:
A relatively dry week and quite sunny as well, especially during the afternoon.
UK:
Conditions across the UK last week are summarised as “close to average”. Low pressure to the north allowed Atlantic frontal systems to push cloud and rain across much of the UK. However the southeast of England continues to see below average rainfall. Here reservoir levels are now considered to be dangerously low.
FALKLANDS:
Issued by Jay Merrell at 1600 Z Monday 16th January 2006
Conditions remain unsettled in the Falklands with very little summer weather to get excited about. Things took a turn for the worst last weekend with a deep area of low pressure centred over the Falklands resulting in long periods of rain.
