ASCENSION:


Lots of sunshine with variable amounts of patchy cloud through the week. The cloud thick enough on 4 evenings to give an isolated very light shower.


ST. HELENA:


A sunny start and end to the week, a weekly total 42 hours of sunshine recorded, but cloudy Wednesday to Friday with light showers, mainly on Thursday.


UK:


A large of area of high pressure over the UK gave above average temperatures and in the south plenty of winter sunshine, whilst cloud and rain drifted across Scotland Tuesday and Thursday. Winter returned on Friday as strong and biting northerly winds gave some snow showers along North Sea coasts and frosts overnight. Temperature just climbed above freezing at Lowestoft on Saturday.


FALKLANDS:


The week started with weak summer sunshine and temperatures in the high teens but a weak front on Wednesday swung the winds into the south and temperatures plummeted to around 7 C over the weekend with some wintry showers.
