ASCENSION: The temperatures are starting to build, with this weeks maximum reaching a magic 28 Celsius on Monday 28th, and 30 Celsius was almost achieved in Georgetown. I’m sure we’ll beat those values this coming week – fingers crossed. We’ve had the odd cloudy day and a few showers, but that’s nothing unusual this time of year is it!?

ST. HELENA: Fairly cloudy last week, with a total of 25.5 hours of sunshine. The best day for sunshine was Friday 2nd with temperatures peaking almost 22 Celsius. A dry week though, with the majority of rain falling during Sunday. The average temperature for the whole week was 17.1 Celsius.

UK: Not as cold as last week - it did eventually turn milder as the week progressed. The week started off mainly fine and dry, but wet and windy weather spread in from the southwest during Thursday and Friday (1st and 2nd December). Most of the rain fell at Brize Norton on Thursday and Friday, which was all associated with a large area of low pressure bringing many bands of rain and strong winds, especially over southern England.

FALKLANDS: Frost free last week, ….. well ….. at least in the air that is! Grass frosts occurred on Monday and Wednesday nights. The only day to remain dry was Wednesday 30th November. The warmest day of 13.7 Celsius was on Saturday.
