ASCENSION:

What had been a good week, although mostly cloudy, was changed over the weekend when several and at times prolonged and heavy showers returned to affect the island, especially on high locations.

ST. HELENA:

Mostly cloudy all week although Wednesday and Thursday did see some sunny spells.

UK:

The high pressure which gave southern areas of the UK an Indian summer with temperatures reaching 18 C was pushed out of the way on Wednesday when an area of low pressure moved into SW England. This low pressure gave heavy rain especially over Wales, Snowdonia area having 50mm of rain, but weakened as it pushed into Northern England. Another area of low pressure with strong winds and rain on Friday again pushed across the country from the SW, but brought some fine sunny weather with showers for the weekend. .

FALKLANDS:

A mixture of strong winds with sunshine and showers became more settled on Thursday as high pressure affected the islands and gave them some fine sunshine. A weak weather system gave them more cloud and a little rain on Saturday.
