ASCENSION:
A mixture of sunshine and showers with showers slowly beginning to give way to some drier and sunny weather during Friday. Significant and prolonged rain occurred on Thursday, pity we don’t have figures from the Residency yet.
ST. HELENA:
A very cloudy week with the sun only breaking through on a few occasions giving a weekly total of 3.2 hours of sunshine.
UK:
The very warm air which covered southern and eastern parts of UK, daytime temperatures above 23 C where recorded Monday to Wednesday, was pushed into the near continent as a frontal system brought cloud and rain to all areas and more normal temperatures. High pressure again became established over the UK during Thursday to give a typical autumnal feel to the weather, hazy sunshine during the day, mist, fog and low cloud overnight. Temperatures picked up over the weekend reaching 21 C in places.

The week started with near gale westerly winds, which eased during Tuesday, but also some pleasant spring sunshine. This all changed drastically on Wednesday with gale force southerly winds and snow showers which slowly abated and died out late on Friday. A ridge of high pressure gave a return more spring-like weather over the weekend
