ASCENSION:

Another useful week from the rainfall point of view with some decent totals again, although some places got a lot more than others. The showers kept going but were not quite as heavy as last weekend and a lot of them occurred at night. Thankfully, apart from a few spots, the weather was kind to the Ascension Day Fair although it was quite windy.

ST. HELENA:

Nothing really of note in St Helena this week. There were some showers but rainfall totals were not high. It was quite a windy week, however, with an average wind speed of 16.2 KT through the period.

UK:

It was a fairly dry week across the UK with an Anticyclone sitting over the country for a good deal of the time. Some weather fronts did affect SW England later in the week with 16.9 mm of rain being recorded in Teignmouth (Devon) during Friday and Saturday. With light winds at night it was also quite chilly in many places with minus 4 C recorded in Kinbrace (Highlands) on Thursday night. Scotland also saw the highest temperature and the best of the sunshine for the week with a pleasant 21 C in Strathallan (Perth and Kinross) on the 15th and 15.0 hours of sun in Leuchars (Fife) on the 14th.

FALKLANDS:

Another typical Falklands week with unsettled weather for much of the time as Low pressure lay close to the Islands. Temperatures started of above normal but it turned colder from Thursday onwards, and with some very strong winds at times there was the added problem of wind chill.
