ASCENSION:

Some significant showers occurred on Saturday night over Green Mountain and also Travellers, indeed it was the wettest week at the Residency since early December. It was also quite hot and the 32.7 Celsius recorded in Georgetown was the highest since May 2003.

ST. HELENA:

Quite a nice week in St Helena as well with much more in the way of sunshine than the previous week. There were a few light showers but the Maximum of 26.4 Celsius recorded at the Met Office on Monday was one of the highest recorded since March 2003.

UK:

A cold start to the week in the UK with a  strong Northerly wind blowing. Things quietened down through the middle part of the week with lighter winds and some rain at times. By the end of the week the cold weather was back bringing wintry showers, especially to the eastern side of the UK. This cold spell looks like lasting through next week as well, with snow in many places. The lowest temperature through the week was Minus 6 Celsius recorded in the Highlands on Monday night and in Northumberland on Tuesday night. Highest daytime temperatures were around 11 Celsius, and Norwich saw 10.2 mm of rain through Saturday.

FALKLANDS:

As usual a mixed bag of weather for the Falklands, with a cold night to start the week, followed by a very windy day on Tuesday and a wet day on Wednesday. The rest of the week saw settled conditions as an Anticyclone moved close to the Islands giving a high of 19.8 Celsius on Thursday.
