Dear Friends,
When we arrived in James' Bay on Sunday 5 December there was a general feeling of excitement on board the RMS St. Helena as we prepared to disembark to be greeted by members of our families and friends. The coloured street lights and decorations in the homes was a reminder that the festive season is upon us again.
Christmas provides us with an opportunity of being reunited with our families and friends and those of us who arrived on St. Helena that Sunday evening was a time of joy and peace. One of the things that is associated with Christmas is peace, and being reunited with family and friends brings peace and joy.
At the birth of Jesus the Angels sang, Glory to God in the highest and peace to his people on earth. Peace is communion with God so let us ask that he will continue to help us to witness that peace this Christmas which only he can give.
My wife Jenny and I wish you all a joyful, blessed and peaceful Christmas.
Canon Clive.
