From Colin Wells, Administrator of Ascension Island

My Successorís Arrival

After 3 years as Administrator of Ascension, it is now time for me to pass the baton to my excellent successor, Marc Holland.

Marc and his wife, Rachel, and their five children Annoushka, Jemima, Luca, Noah and Asher will arrive on the Airbridge on Monday 18 August. They will move straight into the Residency and I know they are keen to meet Residents as soon as possible. Parents will have an early chance to meet them as Annoushka, Jemima and Luca will be going to Two Boats School.

My term as Administrator will come to an end at 4.30pm on Tuesday 26 August when Marc will be sworn in at the Court House. Until then, Marc and I will be working hard on a thorough handover. There are many challenges ahead for Marc and a handover is thus essential in making sure the transfer of responsibility from one Administrator to another goes smoothly. We both want that.

So, if you see the Hollandís around, please welcome them and say hello.

Tara and I are moving to Two Boats Village this week to allow the Hollandís to move into the Residency and will leave Ascension on 29 August. We will be moving to Mumbai in India in October Ė a place that could not be more different to Ascension. We shall miss you and the Island enormously.

Colin Wells

Administrator
