Rowdies thump Inbetweeners in their second meeting in two weeks
Rowdies lined up with Young Horizon star Jordon Yon and a player from the US, Eric Sacklam as Inbetweeners lined-up with Becky replacing Chae in goal. Rowdies blasted in two goals within 5 minutes from Young Jordon and BBC. Dook added a third after 20 minutes following clever footwork from BBC in midfield, who released Judas who in turn slipped in Dook. The score could’ve been more if it wasn’t for Becky who made several important saves. Shark who has been improving week by week was the only Inbetweeners player to test Bluey in the first half with a long range effort. He was on the score sheet minutes after the restart when a clever 1-2 with Nathan Bo, found Shark with space inside the area before he calmly placed the ball pass Bluey at his near post. Shoe caused confusion when his goal blasted in over Becky’s head only to rebound of the post at the back of the net, leading to most of the players and fans’ thinking it wasn’t a goal. Two Rowdies corners in quick succession both to the back post both to George who had his first header saved but his second went into the roof of the net. Late on Sacklam broke down the right wing before squaring to Shoe he slipped in young Alex who had only been on the field a few minutes, he controlled then volleyed pass Backy. A moment for Inbetweeners to laugh came when captain Crocky stepped up for a free kick on the left wing deep inside Rowdies half, but his cross was closer to his goal than the oppositions as he sliced it and saw it curl away from goal. The match finished 1-6, leaving Rowdies to play a postponed match next week to wrap up the league competition.
