Many thanks to all who helped make our Mothering Sunday service special.

The church was full; some having to sit outside. It was good to see lots of young people from the uniformed organisations. Special thanks to Alison Blunt who played the hymns; to Marion Kilsby who sorted the flowers; to Nigel Atkins of the R.A.F. ,and Marion from AIG, who provided the flowers; and the choir from Two Boats School who sang  the hymn:  “Thank You For This New Day.”

This Sunday, please join us for the baptism of baby Marley Roman .A  shortened form of the Sunday service will enable our Annual Vestry Meeting to take place. The service will begin promptly at 10-30am..

At the brief meeting, the Church Accounts will be received; the Churchwardens and P.C.C. will be  elected; and the vicar’s Annual Review of the Parish will be given.

The ASCENSION DAY FAIR : this year will be the 45th.anniversary of the Fair so  please join us and make it a great occasion. St. Mary’s is entirely self-financing, and depends on the Fair to cover the bulk of it’s costs which are in the region of £14,000 a year. The date of the fair this year will be: Saturday,11th. May. Last year we raised £7000 which was a magnificent achievement; we truly hope that we can encourage everyone to get involved and help us generate a similar level of support in 2013.

Don’t forget!

Sunday after next will be Palm Sunday and the start of HOLY WEEK.

Fr. Chris
