On a very blustery afternoon Turners actually won a contest, luckily Interserve weren’t competing!! Fred, John & Stan (yes that man again) were triumphant after an exciting chip-off and once again it was the chip-off expert that won the day (not going to mention it was Stan). PJ could not cope with the pressure and his chip ended up in the water down the 18th fairway.
I can report that after 3 weeks in the UK that the Tiger has been tamed and also that Brendan does not believe in ‘one for the road’ as he put 2 down the road from the 10th and 11th tee.
Six teams participated this week and the first five were only separated by 2 shots, but the last group were well adrift of the others – welcome back Gary!
A big welcome to Lisa, Dave played the gentleman throughout and made her carry the bag all the way round. Next week we see the debut of our trusty firemen, so Lisa, if you haven’t been chatted up by tomorrow, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grubb won’t let you down. Yes a field of 21 next week – eat your hearts out OBGC.
Back to this week, due to the conditions there were no two balls but nine 3’s that included two birdies; in fact looking at the scorecards Gary and his team were the only team to record a 6 (several times).
I’ve been told to state by the OBGC captain (JJ) that he didn’t come last this week, and I cannot argue, in fact he was third from last. Out of the 18 players this week there was only JJ that hadn’t won this prestigious event. Although looking at the draw for next week, which was made live at the 19th and broadcast on BFBS Radio 2, if JJ doesn’t win next week I can see TSB forever out of his grasp.
If our reader wants any more information on TSB and its history then you can view further details at www.TSB.asi.com. In a fortnights time we have the pleasure of a guest appearance by Todd Hamilton who is fresh from his victory over The Tiger. He has requested that he is not teamed with JJ.
TSB eagerly await the return of a certain Alec Turner, who starts to swing a club at the end of the month, but we do wonder now that Miss Marshall has departed the island who is he going to use for OBGC competitions – step forward Miss Niddrie.
That’s about all for now, keep on swinging and playing with your balls.
