George “Dover” Thomas emerged victorious last weekend at the One Boat Golf Club
when he clinched his first Open title at this year’s Ascension Golf Open competition.

George “Dover” Thomas emerged victorious last weekend at the One Boat Golf Club

when he clinched his first Open title at this year’s Ascension Golf Open competition.

Fourteen players competed in the Open and after battling it out over two

consecutive weekends, the competition culminated in a joyous victory for long-

serving and dedicated member and current President of the Club –Dover - who

took first place!  Dale Josias came in at second place, followed by Lyndon

“Speedy” Leo in third place. 

The presentation was carried out by Patrick Moyce who awarded the winners

 with their trophies and a cut-glass memento was presented to all of those who participated. The day was rounded off with a delicious barbecue and curry and   

rice dinner and drinks at the bar which was enjoyed by all!

Thanks are extended to all of those who took part in the competition and to everyone

who helped out in any way in making this yet another successful event. The members would like to pass on their congratulations to Dover with the message “We guess you will have to pack all of your boxes now”!
