It was good to meet at Drunk’s Hideaway this week and find it all cleaned up, swept out and restored.

Hare:  Simply Indiscreet

Hounds: Sniffy, The Last Turtle Head of Doom, Mucky Digger,

Wood ‘n’ Pecker,  Soggy Boulders and Al.

Apres: Old Golly Waddler, Dances with Sheep, Mucky Princess

It was good to meet at Drunk’s Hideaway this week and find it all cleaned up, swept out and restored.  Well done that team!  As a starting and finishing place for a hash, what more could we ask?  Flat, clear ground perhaps but then that wouldn’t be much of a hash.

Simply Indiscreet outlined our mission as locating the best place for gunning placements and returning to the submarine before dark.  There would be the normal hazards of loose rock, slopes, steep edges but…no thorn.  Where would we be swimming to?  The on-on was back up the track and directly towards the cliff edge.  No circle check and no rest.  Up – up.  Mucky Digger confidently bringing up the rear, TLTH of  D having no ladies to escort today.    First gunning placement found, Simply Indiscreet had located it from far below by the lighter colouring where sandbags had split and been washed down the banking.

Along the ridges, the little people had echo and shouting matches with other little people on Pan Am beach far below.  On-on to the pipeline. Soggy Boulders saw her escape route tempting Mucky Digger to the shortcut and the promise of a barefoot run along the beach on descent. 

Now only the men were left on the top, celebrating the eviction of all women and children.  They upped the pace and set off on a masculine romp across the cliff top towards the cain overlooking Pan-Am. 

From below they looked an impressive formation posing for photos, silhouetted against the brilliant blue.  Did we really hear the blast of a vuvuzela?

All made it across the beach with dry boots and managed to open the kegs.  It’s a while since we have hashed on the western coastline but this was a spectacular event.  Thanks Simply Indiscreet for setting the mission.  All gunning placements located and logged.  

Next week:  ADF, so meet behind the post office at 4.30 to run up the hill and back.
