ASCENSION ISLAND GOVERNMENT

Press Release

ADMINISTRATOR TO VISIT UK AND ST.HELENA

In view of the fact that he is not accompanied at post, the Administrator will be spending time with his children in the UK over the Christmas period. He will leave Ascension on the 16th December and return on the 29th December 2011. During the Administrator’s absence the duties of Acting Administrator will be undertaken by Mr Paul Cook, Director of Resources.

Unlike other senior government officials and personnel on the Island, the Administrator has not yet had the privilege of meeting our new Governor. He will therefore make a flying visit to St.Helena from the 9th to 15th January 2012 to meet with the Governor and other St.Helena Government officials to discuss issues of importance to Ascension Island. During his short absence, the duties of Acting Administrator will be undertaken by Mr Walter Scott, Crown Counsel.
