Past week’s Weather
UK
A poor start to the week with large amounts of cloud, outbreaks of drizzle and early morning mist and fog. A frontal system brought rain on Wednesday and Thursday, with further outbreaks on Friday. It was a mostly dry weekend.
Falklands
A misty start on Monday, with rain during the afternoon. It remained mostly cloudy Tuesday through Thursday with rain at times. A nice end to the week though, with plenty of sunshine and a high of 20 C on Saturday!
Ascension
It’s been a breezy week here in Ascension with a number of showers, particularly over Travellers Hill. It was rather cloudy at the beginning of the week, but with more prolonged sunny spells by the end.

What weather can we expect?
There are essentially four ‘seasons’ on Ascension.
At the moment we are in the ‘drizzle shower season’. At this time of year we can usually expect warm and cloudy conditions with light to moderate ‘drizzly’ showers at times throughout the day. Temperatures range from 22C to 29C with a sea temperature of around 25C.
As we head into the Christmas period, we move into the ‘hot, mainly dry and sunny season’. This is usually between early December late February. There are fewer showers and plenty of sunny spells. Temperatures range between 24 and 32C with a sea temperature of 26C.
The “hot, mainly sunny and heavy shower season is generally late February to late April. Temperatures range from 25 to 32C with a sea temperature of 27C. There are mainly small amounts of cloud, but with moderate or heavy showers possible, thunder is rare.
Finally, the fourth season is from late April to late July. We usually associated these months with hot, and sunny weather with just a few light showers. Temperatures range from 23 to 31C with a sea temperature of 26C. Again there are mainly small amounts of cloud with just a few light showers at times.
