Those wanting to join the Adult Confirmation Group on Monday nights should
contact Father Chris as soon as possible. The first meeting was on Monday
evening of this week and it is still possible for others to join in. Bishop Richard
will hold the service of Confirmation during his visit at the end of November.
Meetings start at 7-30 pm., and in each meeting we will look at a vital aspect of
Christian faith and believing. Please ring Fr.Chris on 6431 for more information.
The baptism of baby Riley, son of Lucy and Dennis Leo-Francis, took place in
St. Mary’s Church on Sunday,Oct.9th.; the joyful occasion was very well attend-
ed. The Gospel text for the day was the Parable of the Wedding Feast ( Mtt.22)
in which one of the guests gets thrown out of the party because he was wearing
the wrong clothes. Many come to be baptised as infants wearing the right
garment, but they never return to collect the imperishable garment which
Christ freely gives. On the day we make our own commitment to Jesus and pray
God to strengthen us with his Holy Spirit, this is our confirmation, when we
receive the imperishable garment of true righteousness which leads to
everlasting life. Even if you have not yet been baptised, you can join in the
Confirmation meetings. It simply means that you would be baptised just before
the service of Confirmation. One is never too old to be baptised / confirmed but
in the Anglican Church, Confirmation has to be conducted by a Bishop. So
don’t miss out on this opportunity.
