Following the resignation of Councillor Mrs Faith Thomas it has become necessary to hold a By-Election to ensure that the Island Council has its full membership of five persons.

NOTICE OF BY-ELECTION 

Following the resignation of Councillor Mrs Faith Thomas it has become necessary to hold a By-Election to ensure that the Island Council has its full membership of five persons.

His Excellency the Acting Governor has, in accordance with Regulation 5(2) of the Elections Regulations, 2008, and pursuant to section 6(2) of the Island Government (Ascension) Ordinance, issued a formal notice appointing the 25^th day of October 2011 as the day for the by-election.

The Acting Governor has also given notice that the date by which nominations shall be received by the Returning Officer at the Administration Office in Georgetown shall be the 10^th day of October 2011.

Nominations of candidates must be delivered to the Returning Officer by 6pm on the above date.

Nomination forms are available from the Returning Officer, Assistant Registration Officer – Nicola Dillon or AIG’s Administration Office in Georgetown.
