WELCOME TO BISHOP RICHARD FENWICK
The Church Wardens and members of St.Mary’s Church Council bid a hearty welcome to our new Bishop, Bishop Richard David Fenwick, who arrived on Ascension Island on Thursday 7th July 2011. It is a great pleasure for the whole Council to have Bishop Richard with us and we hope that he will have a pleasant and rewarding stay on Ascension.
During Sunday’s Service, at which Bishop Richard officiated, he gave special thanks to everyone who had made sure that St.Mary’s had continued to function since the departure of Canon Clive Duncan last year. In his thanks he also mentioned IDL and the RAF who are instrumental in looking after repairs and renovations to St.Mary's and also AIG who very kindly takes care of matters relating to the Vicarage.
Bishop Richard will leave us for St.Helena on Monday 18th July 2011 and will be enthroned at St Pauls Cathedral on Sunday 24th July 2011 at 3.00 p.m. All our thoughts and prayers will be with Bishop Richard at this very special time.

CHURCH COUNCIL MEETING
Just a gentle reminder to all Church Council members that there will be a meeting of the Church Council tonight at the Children’s Church at 8pm. The principle item on the agenda is to meet with Bishop Richard and to discuss matters relating to St.Mary’s and the Parish. It would be appreciated if everyone could attend this important meeting.
Sunday Service— 17 July 2011
The service for Sunday, the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost, will be a celebration of the ‘Holy Eucharist’ with Bishop Richard Fenwick. The service will start at the usual time of 10.30am. There will be an opportunity to meet with Bishop Richard after the service and partake of some light refreshments.
Have a safe and blessed week.
