Ascension : From The Editors (Amanda)
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Editors) 24.03.2011 (Article Archived on 07.04.2011)

Hello Readers, We hope that you will enjoy what we have compiled this week. Lots to read about.

See further inside for an increase in water and electricity tariffs. We would have made a mention of this on the front page as this affects most of us, unfortunately due to late submission, the front page had already been completed and printed off.

We have included some news from our sister Islands. From Tristan da Cuhna is the latest update (on Monday) on the Environmental disaster after the MS “Oliva” ran aground off Nightingale Island. From St Helena – some pretty impressive job vacancies and notice of Nominations required for Certificate & Badge of Honour & Acts of Bravery Awards!

A rescue operation on board the RMS St Helena whilst at Portland after 3rd Engineer had a fall in the cargo hold.  We wish Lee Clarke a speedy recovery.

Warmest birthday wishes to Wilson Scipio – 70 yrs and don’t look a day over 40!  Have a great day Wilson!

Have a great week!
