The annual vestry meeting of St. Mary’s Parish was held during morning service last Sunday, 13 March 2011.

Annual Vestry Meeting

The annual vestry meeting of St. Mary’s Parish was held during morning service last Sunday, 13 March 2011. The business of the meeting included the presentation of the Churchwarden’s accounts, the election of Churchwardens and Parish Councillors, the Churchwarden’s Report and any other business. It is pleasing to report, that St. Mary’s Parish has managed to retain a full and operational Parish Council consisting of the following persons:

Thank you to all of the above persons for giving up their time to serve a worthy cause.

After all business of the meeting had been dealt with, the Chairperson thanked all those persons who had helped, supported and assisted St.Mary’s Church over the past year, special mention was made of the Churchwardens, Parish Council, Church Cleaners, Choir, Organist, the MoD & IDL, AIG and of course the organisers and supporters of the ADF last year. Thank you to all of you, your support is valued.

Parish Council Meeting

An important Parish Council meeting will be held in the Children’s Church on Monday 21 March 2011 at 8pm. It would be appreciated if all Parish Councillors could attend, as the principal purpose of the meeting is to discuss the ADF for this year. Unfortunately, it would appear that a committee could not be formed to run the ADF this year, so the Council will have to look at alternatives or take over the running of the ADF, or something similar, itself. If anyone is interested in assisting or helping  with the running of the ADF, or a similar event, please come along to the meeting. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

Service for Sunday

Sunday 20 March 2011 will be the Second Sunday in Lent.  The service for Sunday will be a celebration of the ‘Eucharist without a Priest’. The service will start at the usual time of 10.30am.

The readings for Sunday are:    Genesis 12: 1-9   Romans 4: 1-5 & 13-17
