Ascension : HM THE QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY PARTY AT THE RESIDENCY

MBE for Donald (Worm) Peters, and Scouts presented with Chief Scout Awards.
Her Majesty the Queen’s Official Birthday was celebrated in a reception at the Residency on Saturday evening hosted by HH the Administrator and his wife.
At the end of his speech the Administrator congratulated Donald Peters (“Worm”) on the honour bestowed on him by the Queen, in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, the MBE (Member of the British Empire) “for services to the Overseas Territories”.
This very well deserved honour is in recognition of Donald’s long and faithful years of service to CSO here on Ascension.
In due course Donald will be invited to attend an Investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace, where HM will present his award in person. On the same occasion the Administrator also presented the Chief Scout Gold Award to seven Scouts on island.
