VACANCY – POST OFFICE TEAM LEADER
A position of Post Office Team Leader has become available with the Ascension Island Government. The Ascension Island Government is seeking to recruit a highly motivated person with a willingness to demonstrate a high level of commitment to the job.
The Ascension Island Government is undergoing a restructuring and modernisation process aimed at delivering quality services representing value for money to the taxpayer. A key post in the new structure is Post Office Team Leader. Responsible to and working with the Director of Resources the Team Leader will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Post Office with a view to ensuring that services are provided in an efficient, effective and customer orientated manner. The duties will include chairing Stamp Committee meetings and giving advice and guidance to the Committee on the planning and production of new stamp issues. The incumbent will also play a key role in the sale and marketing of Ascension stamps to dealers.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years financial and management experience, have a working knowledge of UPU rules and regulations and a sound understanding of the Philatelic Code of Ethics, knowledge of AIG’s financial systems and procedures, excellent IT skills, GCSE’s in English and Maths at Grade C, be a strong team worker with the ability to interface with people at all levels, be willing to pursue personal development, and hold a valid Class C & D driving licence.
The post is offered as either a single or accompanied status contract for two years. Salary will depend upon qualifications and experience.
