Submitted by The Islander (Ascension Island Government) 17.09.2009 (Article Archived on 01.10.2009)

"EMERGENCY REPORTING 6333”

The Ascension Island Government (AIG) Fire & Sea Rescue Service (F&SRS) has recently received a number of both general enquiry and wrong number calls via the emergency reporting line 6333. The F&SRS would like to respectfully remind members of the public that this line is to be used for the sole purpose of reporting and receiving emergency calls requiring their attendance.

Should you wish to contact the F&SRS during normal working hours 08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 16:00 on Friday’s for any reason other than an emergency we ask that you use either of the following numbers;

Fire Service Control/Crew Room – Tel: 6698

Fire Service Office – Tel: 6361

Using the 6333 for non-emergency calls may block a genuine emergency call from

getting through therefore we ask for your full cooperation in this matter.

Thank you

William Minto

Senior Fire Officer
