Ascension : Special Thank You To Joy

I would like to say a special thank you to Joy for all her hard work and dedication in helping me with the Turtles for the last few years.

Joy will be greatly missed when she leaves the Island at the weekend – 18 April 2009.

Joy has helped with the raking of Long Beach twice weekly during the turtle season, also raking and monitoring on the many other turtle beaches. Monitoring includes the counting of numerous tracks, GPS plotting of nests, counting U-turns and false crawls and all the many tasks associated with the turtle work, also assisting on Turtle Tours when extra help was required. Many stranded female turtles have made it back safely to the sea, aided by Joy.

Thanks are also extended to Patrick who spent many hours helping us to rake the beaches.
