ASCENSION MAGISTRATES’ COURT

EDWIN VALENTINE RICHARDS, aged 26, a Desalination Plant Operator employed by CSR, appeared in the Ascension Magistrates’ Court on Friday 21 April 06 and pleaded Guilty to charges of careless driving and driving whilst over the prescribed limit.

The Court heard that the charges arose from an accident which occurred on the Old Mountain Road, Sheep Dip near Two Boats during the early evening of Sunday 16 April 06.

Mr Richards, who was represented by Lay Advocate Mr Johnny Hobson, was ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £185.  He was disqualified from driving for 15 months.

RUBEN NICHOLAS SOTO, aged 32, a Lifeguard employed by ESS, appeared in the Ascension Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 22 April and pleaded Guilty to charges of driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent; driving a vehicle without there being in force a policy of insurance; and driving a vehicle without a valid motor vehicle licence.

The Court heard that the charges arose from an incident which occurred on the main road from One Boat to Travellers Hill during the evening of Sunday 9 April 06.

Mr Soto, who was represented by Lay Advocate Mr Lawson Henry, was ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £115.  He was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
