Ascension : Thank you from the Birkett family Submitted by The Islander (Islander Editors) 19.07.2012 (Article Archived on 09.08.2012)
Well, the time has come when each time we do something it is for the last time.

Well, the time has come when each time we do something it is for the last time. As we prepare to leave this wonderful place we’d all like to say a big thank you to the people who have made the last four years such a special time. You know who you are – where ever you are!
We have grown up knowing about Ascension, Mike’s friends spent time here and when I was 8, I was involved in a radio programme broadcast (I still have the newspaper cutting).
So, here’s to our hash buddies, dive buddies (Mike reckons he has been involved in the training of around 40 people), buddy buddies and the kid’s friends from school. Two Boats School staff, parents, children (and volunteers). Mike’s time as a ladybird dad, editing the Islander and Cubs leader. Dancing friends, Ascension Day fair craft show, Bible study group and St Mary’s. Rainbows, Beavers and Brownie leaders, Twirlers and sports clubs. And then, those with whom we shared coffee, shipwreck or wine over the years. We will miss this place and the people we shared it with.
Keep in touch – Mike, Alison, Tamar and Joseph Birkett.
